Somewhere In Time
November 9, 2015
There does exist, in this hectic and fast paced world of ours, a place I’ve always dreamed of…and I know im not alone. A place where my children are safe and my husband and I could really reconnect to who we are. A place in this world which is simple. Simply wonderful. The smell of morning coffee brewing, the “squeak ” of a wooden screen door closing, the cracklings of a fresh fire, it’s warmth surrounding you. A crockpot filled with a Sunday Pot Roast, a piano who’s ivory longs to be tickled no matter what the melody! And possibly and maybe most importantly, our grandchildren or any children…playing…Outside. No IPad needed. No TV involved (unless you want that). Children and I will admit, We adults as well, rolling in green grass, swinging with screeching laughter, hiking, exporing. Climbing trees, cozy rooms with down mattress toppers, quilts. Quiet comforts. A walk through a luscious forest path leading to the most breathtaking of lakes. Serenity. A time for romance. A fine wine watching the day turn to night. Sun kissed morning dew, stars in such abundance all you can do is marvel at their beauty…and I challenge you to count them! A glass (or two) of wine on the deck. A media room that will blow your socks off on a rainy day. A barn for dancing, for imagination, for reflection, for playing. Childs playhouse better than some small tiny houses! Children being children and adults being, well I guess, at times, children again. We so love the peaceful and romantic tranquility of this farm. It’s a step back in time with all the modern comforts of home. Don’t miss this gem. It’s an experience your whole family will love forever and long to return to. If you’re looking for the perfect place to be “Somewhere In Time”, it’s here.

Just wanted to let you know we had an absolutely fabulous time at the Bachar Farm this weekend. Just returned home with wonderful memories and great relaxing time. Everyone was really impressed with the home and the area. Hope to visit those at another date.
We had an amazing Fall Foliage Weekend at Bachar Farms. As soon as we pulled up and saw the gate and the light at the top of the Barn we were in love. My partner Floyd and our friends Steve and Luis needed a getaway and this place was truly a blessing. The first night we built a bonfire and toasted marshmallows and just relaxed in the most beautiful serene setting. The house was completely updated yet still retained a vintage farm house charm. To our surprise there was an upright piano in the living room which we took full advantage of and played some show tunes into the night. The property was so quiet and private and yet just a short drive from the most adorable little town. We coordinated our trip with the Lafayette Apple Festival which was only 20 minutes away and was awesome. We will definitely plan another stay and maybe in the warmer months so we can enjoy the lake. PS. Joelle’s French Bistro and the 1820 House are a must for dinner. Thank you Bachar Farms see you soon!!
If you are looking for a laid back vacation that includes the whole family then this is the perfect venue. My husband, our two boys, his parents and my mother all shared perfectly spacious accommodations without ever feeling crowded. There is a fully equipped kitchen but we chose to cook outside on the BBQ and enjoy dinner on one of the rustic picnic tables. Swimming at the lake, bonfires and smore’s at night and then night caps for my hubby and I on the deck off of our bedroom made it a perfect family retreat! We can’t wait to come back next year for our family reunion.
